Join us for this free Festival of Archaeology youth event, 'Beeston Before the Castle: explore the prehistory of the crag.'

Explore prehistoric activity on the crag, including a replica Bronze Age roundhouse, learn how to knap flint, grind your own flour, and take part in a metalworking demonstration to cast a socketed Bronze Age axe, similar to examples found at Beeston.

For 12–18-year-olds, children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult and have parental consent to attend. However, due to restrictions on numbers, parents will not be able to participate in the planned activities.
