Chester Contemporary
Chester Contemporary is a new visual arts event curated by artist Ryan Gander. For the Contemporary, international and Chester-based artists, emerging talent, and the city’s people have been invited to make and show work for Chester’s unique places and spaces, inspired by the theme ‘Centred on the Periphery’.

Picturehouse Cinema at Chester Market
The highly anticipated opening of the Picturehouse cinema at Chester Northgate has taken a major step towards completion. Contractors have resumed the fit-out of the six-screen cinema and Picturehouse are anticipating opening for business in late autumn. As part of the run-up to the opening, Picturehouse Cinemas will be sponsoring three months of free ChooseDay Film Club showings in the new Chester Market every Tuesday until the end of October.

Storyhouse - The jewel in our cultural crown
A visit to Chester is not complete without a visit to Storyhouse our multi-award winning cultural hub complete with theatre, library, restaurant and cinema. The restored and revitalised 1930s Odeon building houses an 800-seat auditorium, a 150-seat studio theatre, a restaurant and two bars plus a 100-seat boutique, independent cinema. This year you can see the classic The Full Monty and book our tickets for Kinky Boots, coming next May.

You can also save on train travel and save the stresses of driving. Transport for Wales operate regular services to Chester from Cardiff, Shrewsbury, Birmingham, and more, and you can save by booking direct and in advance.
