It may not be long until the big day, but there’s still plenty of time to enjoy some of Chester finest festive fayre. There’s a huge selection of festive menus with everything on offer from traditional yuletide dishes to unique and innovative twists. We’ve put together a selection of some of our favourites. As always, to avoid disappointment we recommend ahead to book.
The Fishpool Inn
Enjoy a truly memorable Christmas meal with the Fishpool Inn’s festive menu. There’s everything from confit duck leg and chicken liver parfait, to pan roasted crispy pork belly and pan roasted fillet of salmon. And let’s not forget the classics, including roast breast and leg of turkey and traditional Christmas Pudding. There are also Vegan and Gluten Free options, so there is something for everyone! Three courses are £29.50 and two courses are just £24.50.
For a really indulgent treat, dine in the relaxing Browns Restaurant at the Mere on Christmas Day as their team serve you a delicious six course feast with all the trimmings. Enjoy a drinks reception on arrival and then start with Butternut Squash Veloute served with pumpkin seed pesto, smoked salmon terrine, followed by roast breast of turkey with smoked bacon, cocotte potatoes and roast jus and finishing with Black Forest Gateau. But you're not done yet, you will then be served a selection of British cheeses and petit fous and mini mince pies! There is also a 6 course vegetarian option with a delicious mushroom wellington and vegan chocolate and banana mousse on offer.
You are guaranteed an unforgettable festive dining experience at Pecks. Christmas Lunch and Dinner menus are being served until 30th December (closed 25th & 27th December). And although you can choose from a delicious selection of main courses, Pecks is famous for its puddings, with creamy cheesecakes, delicate roulades, cakes and tarts to choose from, its the perfect end to a perfectly festive meal!
It's time for a treat. The Festive menu at Next Door is designed with celebration in mind, a 6 course tasting menu to enjoy with friends, family and loved ones. Each course is created to savour whilst taking your time to relax and unwind. The festive menu enables their chefs to showcase their skill, at this prime time of year, using the best seasonal ingredients. Instead of Turkey, here you can enjoy Partidge, pear and rosemary and Vegetarians can enjoy Jerusalem Artichoke, Baked Celeriac and Cauliflower Latte.
Carrington Grill at Mottram Hall Hotel
There's no better place to celebrate Christmas than in the glamorous surroundings of Mottram Hall. Get into the Christmas spirit and treat your friends, family or colleagues to a traditional festive lunch this December. Enjoy slow cooked turkey, sage & onion stuffing, duck fat potatoes, winter vegetables, pigs in blankets and finish with traditional Chrismas pud or a luxurious Chocolate and Praline Terrine with Mint Anglaise.
Topiary in the Park, Park Royal, Warrington
Escape for a few hours and enjoy a tasty festive meal with all of the trimmings and table novelties in the Topiary In The Park Restaurant. Enjoy three courses including slow roast short rib of beef, sweet and sour prawn cocktail and a sumptuous Clementine tart to finish. There is also a popular 3 course Senior Citizens Lunch available from 12pm on 15th December for just £22 per guest.
The Bear's Paw will be serving festive food from 26th November 2021 to 30th December 2021 (excluding Christmas Day) that’s sure to make your special meal merry and bright! Choose from 3 courses for £29.50 or 2 for £24.50. Starters include panko-coated brie amandine, beetroot-cured salmon gravlax and roasted butternut squash, parmesan and sage risotto. For main choose from parsnip and mixed nut roast, braised shoulder of lamb or roasted fillet of salmon and top it off with Christmas pudding, cheesecake, crumble or panna cotta.
If you are vegan, vegatarian or need gluten free options, this is the menu for you! Here you can choose from roasted butternut squash velouté, warm goat’s cheese, chive and walnut tartlet and wild mushroom and celeriac crostini, plus Cauliflower steak or provençale caponata, truffle and Parmesan linguini, then if you still have room left there is a vegan dark chocolate brownie on offer with vegan vanilla ice cream, chocolate sauce and chocolate tuille.
This family owned restaurant is lead by Olivier Troalen, the head chef, with his wife Adele, ably supported by an experienced team with a strong French influence in both the kitchen and the front of house. If you fancy something different the exquisite traditional French cuisine on offer here will do just the job! There are lots of alternatives to the usual turkey with quail breast, monkfish, duck breast and braised pork cheek just a few of the options available. Two courses for £35 - Wednesdays to Saturday.
