If you travel by train to Cheshire with Avanti West Coast you can explore Warrington, Crewe & Nantwich, Macclesfield & Wilmslow and Chester. 

Are you ready for an adventurous escape in the heart of Cheshire? Discover the untamed beauty of this captivating region as you discover some of Cheshire's parks and open spaces (not directly accessible by train but not far from the town centre's by taxi or bus). In Macclesfield a visit to Tegg's Nose Country Park is recommended where you can take part in abseiling, climbing, geology trails, walking, orienteering, wildlife watching and more! Then there is Macclesfield Forest home to the Peak District's largest heronry at Trentabank Reservoir, walking, horse riding and cycling and fishing. Walks around the forest can be combined with longer walks such as the Gritstone Trail, Goyt Valley and Tegg's Nose. 

Check out the many parks and recreation grounds in Warrington or take a short journey from Warrington town centre to Walton Hall Gardens where you can visit the zoo, play golf, visit the gardens, go on the high ropes or play on the playground. Don't forget a bite to eat in their cafe! 

In Chester you can go kayaking on the river, cycle or scoot around the city, head up to the roof at the Cathedral or visit the Zoo, that's always an adventure! And in Nantwich you can hop on a narrowboat for the day and cruise up and down the Shropshire Union Canal.
