The Festival of Archaeology is organised by the Council for British Archaeology (CBA) and is the most significant moment of the year in the archaeology calendar.
Here at Quarry Bank we are giving you the opportunity to dig tests pits in the Apprentice House Garden and see what treasures from the past you can discover.
Offered in partnership with the University of Salford and SMART Archaeology Manchester, their expert Archaeologists will teach you how to dig, how to recover objects and to record what you've found.
During this experience you can also learn about the history of the Apprentice House, and see artefacts which were recovered in the garden in the past.
Who knows, maybe this could spark a passion for archaeology for you or our younger visitors!
All equipment and training will be provided. National Trust admission charges apply.
