About Us

Macclesfield Writing Group is holding its annual seasonal reading event at the Button Warehouse in Macclesfield on Wednesday 11th December from 7.00pm onwards.

Ticket price is £6 which includes a glass of mulled wine and a mince pie. The last half hour will be given over to an open mic session for those who have not booked a slot in advance.

Entrance by ticket only.
Expect a range of prose and poetry ranging from the dark to the optimistic and seasonally cheerful. There will be a range of books available to buy – all written by the group members. The ideal way to solve the Xmas gift dilemma.

The writing group was started by ex-Cheshire Poet Laureate Joy Winkler some seven years ago, and each week up to twenty members attend the regular Thursday afternoon workshops at Macc library. There is a charge of £4.00 to cover refreshments, room hire, and visiting speakers. All ages are welcome.
