You are here: The Queen at Chester
Make The Queen your first choice when looking for a hotel in the heart of Chester. Walk through the entrance of the magnificent brick and stucco Italianate hotel and you’re following some extraordinary guests. Since opening in 1860 to serve first-class rail passengers, the hotel has entertained the likes of Charles Dickens, Cecil Rhodes and Lillie Langtry. They are a hotel of many firsts. They’re the original railway hotel, the first of its kind built to service the many rail travellers to the city. With no other blueprints upon which to base the hotels’ design, the architecture was unique, many say the first skyscraper of its time and students from across the world still visit just to marvel at the structure and design.
During your stay, eat in the AA rosette awarded restaurant and enjoy food prepared with care and understanding using good quality ingredients. Download the menus for the Waiting Room and Kings' Grill here.
