In November 2021 the UK will host the UN Climate Change conference (COP 26) which will bring parties together to accelerate action towards the goals of the Paris Agreement and the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change.
Operation Earth is a program of activities organised by ASDC and funded by NERC all about our planet and how human activity is impacting the land, oceans and air. In these workshops you will learn about some of the problems we are facing and the action we can take to solve them.
These workshops are aimed at children aged 7+ but children of any age are welcome to take part.
Workshop 1: The Land – we will find out about satellite imaging and talk about why we need a variety of plants and animals on the Earth
Workshop 2: The Oceans – we will find out how our oceans are changing due to human activity and what we can do to change this
Workshop 3: The Air – we will find out how the ozone layer protects us and do an experiment to find out about acids
Workshop 4: Climate change – we will find out why our planet is getting warmer and talk about the actions we can each take to slow this down
Tickets: £25
Your ticket will include access to all four workshops.
Once you have paid for your ticket you will need to register for the Zoom webinars. Details of how to do this will be sent in your ticket confirmation email.
