Out of the Deep Blue

Autin Dance Theatre are bringing this large-scale outdoor performance, featuring a sea giant puppet, to Warrington town centre on Sunday 16 October.

Inspired by the themes of the climate emergency and the biodiversity crisis, this spectacle is designed specifically for family audiences and tells the magical story of Eko, a sea giant who rises from the deep ocean and who encounters, on the shore, a courageous little girl called Violet.

Meet Eko in Time Square and follow the performance along Dolman’s Lane, up Bridge Street and into Golden Square’s Old Market Place, where you will be enthralled by a performance combining puppetry and dance.

Out of the Deep Blue will be performed twice at the following times:

10.30am – Promenade from Time Square to Golden Square

11.00am – 11.30am – Static performance in The Old Market Place, Golden Square

1pm - Promenade from Time Square to Golden Square

1.30pm – 2pm - Static performance in The Old Market Place, Golden Square

To access a programme for the performance, audio description links and an easy read guide, visit the Autin Dance Theatre website.

Family friendly arts activities

Join Culture Warrington for a day of free family friendly arts activities in Warrington's New Art Spaces (the former M&S building) between 11am - 4pm to celebrate the RLWC coming to town!

Our team of artists will lead a jam packed programme of drop in workshops themed around the environment, sustainability and caring for our planet.

Children can bring an old piece of clothing that they can upcycle, make crafts out of recycled materials, learn how to make create their own puppets and even help build a cardboard city plus much more!

All activities are free and available on a first come first served basis, no booking required. All children must be accompanied by an adult.

Bow Jangles Quartet

Forget everything you think you know about string quartets, Bowjangles is an irreverent, anarchic group of genre spanners, bringing music, song, dance and comedy together in a way you’ve never seen before.

This multitalented four-piece not only play their instruments superbly; they also sing, they dance, they leap, tumble, juggle and joke, leaving their audience in stitches of laughter – and incredulous. You can watch their performances live at:

Golden Square from 12.30pm - 1pm

Market Gate from 2pm - 2.30pm

Time Square from 3pm - 3.30pm

The Cookhouse at Warrington Market from 4pm - 4.30pm
