Bringing local history alive! Travel back to 1659 and relive the preparations for the final battle of the English Civil War at Anderton Boat Lift this August.
Interact with soldiers at camp and learn how they lived and worked. There will be live demonstrations of period activities and crafts, pike and musket displays, sword displays and much more. The little ones can join in the fun and have drill practice or try on armour. There will also be a sutlers tent where a cook will prepare food for the officers and soldiers.
What’s more, we are also giving guests the opportunity to board our trip boat for a special cruise to Winnington Bridge where the paths of the armies once crossed!
