Northwich town centre is distinctive with its black and white timber framed buildings.

Northwich is home to the Weaver Hall Museum and Workhouse. At this Museum, visitors can enjoy learning about the history and industry of West Cheshire through film, reconstruction, models, displays and artefacts. You can also find out more too regarding life as a pauper in the workhouse.

Just a short walk down Station Road, across the roundabout and up Leicester Street turning in to Old Warrington Road, the urban landscape gives way to the ancient woodlands, wetlands and flashes of Northwich Woodlands. There are miles of walks and beautiful scenery to explore including Neumann’s Flash, Anderton Nature Park and Marbury Country Park. It is hard to believe that the flashes are the legacy of a harsh, invasive chemical industry.

For a full day out on the train in Northwich, stroll from the station through Northwich Woodland to Anderton to admire great Victorian engineering in the Anderton Boat Lift that links the River Weaver and the Trent & Mersey Canal.

Northwich Railway Station has won a number of awards in the Cheshire Best Kept Station Competition.
